As the son of a local union business manager and longtime international vice-president of the International Association of Heat & Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Union, I grew up with the union in my household. I understand very directly and personally the positive effects that union representation can have on the lives of working people. I have devoted my professional career to the representation of working people through their labor unions. I am firmly committed to the process of collective bargaining as the best and most effective way for working people to have a say in their wages, hours, benefits and working conditions. It has always been my professional goal to advise and assist labor union leadership in providing the best representation possible for their members.
Gary Eby has more than 45 years of experience representing private and public sector labor unions and Taft-Hartley employee benefit plans. Mr. Eby focuses his practice on the general representation of labor unions, including collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration representation, and representing labor unions before courts, state and federal governmental and administrative agencies, such as the National Labor Relations Board and the U.S. Department of Labor, among others.
Mr. Eby’s representative clients include labor unions in the building and construction trades and printing, manufacturing and retail industries, as well as state and federal public employees. Prior to joining Branstetter, Stranch & Jennings in 2022, Mr. Eby was a partner with Kircher & Phalen of Cincinnati and, most recently, of counsel to Manley Burke, also of Cincinnati, where he focused his practice on labor union representation and Taft-Hartley employee benefit plans.
Mr. Eby earned his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and holds a master’s degree in industrial relations from the University of Cincinnati, where he also received his bachelor’s degree. He is admitted to practice in Ohio, Kentucky and the District of Columbia. He is also admitted to practice in various District Courts in Ohio, Kentucky and Michigan, as well as the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Eby is currently a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, Cincinnati Bar Association, AFL-CIO Union Lawyers Alliance and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
